Air Fryer Chicken Tenders

These Air Fryer Chicken Tenders are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and made with minimal oil. A quick and healthy chicken tenderloin recipe air fryer method perfect for dinners, snacks, or meal prep.

Ingredients
  

  • Chicken
  • lbs chicken tenderloins
  • 1 cup buttermilk or milk + 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Breading
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Optional
  • Cooking spray
  • Cayenne pepper for spice
  • Parmesan cheese for extra flavor

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, mix buttermilk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Add chicken tenderloins and marinate for 20–30 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, panko, and all seasoning ingredients.
  4. Remove chicken from marinade and let excess drip off.
  5. Coat each piece in breading mixture, pressing lightly to stick.
  6. Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  7. Spray basket lightly with cooking spray.
  8. Place chicken in a single layer (do not overcrowd).
  9. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  10. Cook until golden and internal temp reaches 165°F (74°C).
  11. Rest for 2–3 minutes and serve.

Notes

  • Use panko for extra crispy chicken tenders air fryer results.
  • Do not overcrowd basket for even cooking.
  • Double coating gives extra crunch.
  • Best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in air fryer.
