Ingredients
  

  • Banana Brownie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 ½ cups light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ripe bananas mashed
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Banana Pudding Layer
  • 1 3.4 oz package instant banana pudding mix
  • 1 ½ cups cold milk
  • ½ cup whipped topping
  • Topping
  • 1 cup crushed vanilla wafer cookies
  • ½ cup whipped topping optional
  • Fresh banana slices for garnish optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract; whisk until combined.
  4. Stir in mashed bananas.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Cool completely.
  10. In a medium bowl, whisk banana pudding mix with cold milk for 2 minutes. Let thicken for 5 minutes.
  11. Fold in whipped topping until smooth.
  12. Spread pudding mixture evenly over cooled brownies.
  13. Sprinkle crushed vanilla wafers over the top.
  14. Add additional whipped topping and banana slices if desired.
  15. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and natural sweetness.
  • Allow brownies to cool completely before adding the pudding layer.
  • Chill before slicing for cleaner cuts and better texture.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
