Method
- In a large bowl, cream butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Mix in vanilla extract and orange zest.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour and salt. Gradually add to butter mixture until a dough forms.
- Fold in dried cranberries until evenly distributed.
- Divide dough in half and shape into 2-inch diameter logs. Wrap tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Slice chilled dough into ¼-inch thick rounds and place on baking sheets.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
Use high-quality butter for the best flavor.
Dough logs can be frozen for up to 2 months.
Add an orange glaze for extra citrus flavor if desired.
