Honey BBQ Chicken Rice is a sweet and smoky dinner made with tender chicken glazed in honey barbecue sauce and served over fluffy rice. A simple, satisfying meal perfect for busy weeknights and meal prep.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Sauce
  • 3/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • For Serving
  • 3 cups cooked white or brown rice
  • Chopped parsley or green onions optional

Method
 

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken 5–6 minutes per side until done.
  3. Mix barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce, and garlic.
  4. Pour sauce into skillet and simmer 3–4 minutes until thick.
  5. Slice chicken and serve over cooked rice with extra sauce.

Notes

Do not overcook chicken to keep it juicy.
Great for meal prep and reheats well.
Use brown rice for a healthier option.
