Oreo Cake

Ingredients
  

  • Cake
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • cups sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 12 Oreo cookies crushed
  • Frosting
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
  • Topping
  • Whole Oreos
  • Crushed Oreos
  • Chocolate shavings

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch pans.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; mix well.
  4. Stir in hot water until smooth batter forms.
  5. Fold in crushed Oreos.
  6. Pour into pans and bake for 28–32 minutes.
  7. Let cakes cool completely.
  8. Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  9. Add powdered sugar and vanilla; mix well.
  10. Fold in crushed Oreos.
  11. Frost cake layers and decorate with Oreos.

Notes

  • Chill cake before slicing for clean layers.
  • Do not overmix batter to keep cake soft.
  • You can turn this into an Oreo Icebox Cake using no-bake layers.
  • Store in fridge for up to 5 days.
  • Freeze slices for up to 2 months.
