  • 1/2 pound lump crab meat
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup seafood or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Optional:
  • Spinach or mushrooms for added flavor
  • Red pepper flakes for a hint of heat

Method

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook Noodles: Boil lasagna noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Cook onions until soft, then add garlic for 30 seconds.
  4. Make Cream Sauce: Sprinkle flour into the skillet and stir to form a roux. Slowly add broth and heavy cream while stirring until thickened.
  5. Season: Stir in Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Add Seafood: Add shrimp and cook 3 minutes until pink. Fold in crab meat and lemon juice.
  7. Assemble Lasagna: Spread a thin layer of sauce in a baking dish. Add a layer of noodles, seafood mixture, ricotta, and mozzarella. Repeat layers until the dish is full.
  8. Top and Bake: Finish with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan. Bake 30–35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Rest and Serve: Let rest 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Use fresh seafood for the best flavor.
  • Avoid overcooking shrimp; it will finish cooking in the oven.
  • Let the lasagna rest before slicing for neat layers.
  • Customize with spinach, mushrooms, or other seafood.
  • Adjust cheese amounts for your preference.
