Smashburger Quesadillas

Crispy Smashburger Quesadillas made with seasoned ground beef smashed until caramelized, layered with melted cheese inside a golden tortilla. This easy recipe combines the best of smash burgers and cheesy quesadillas for a quick, flavorful meal.

Ingredients
  

  • Smashburger Beef
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 recommended
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce optional
  • Quesadilla
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 small onion thinly sliced (optional)
  • Pickles optional
  • Butter or oil for frying
  • Burger Sauce Optional
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp pickle relish
  • Pinch of paprika

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add small portions of beef and smash flat. Cook until crispy and browned, then break into small pieces.
  3. In a separate skillet, heat butter or oil over medium heat.
  4. Place one tortilla in the pan and sprinkle cheese evenly.
  5. Add cooked smashburger beef, onions, and pickles if using.
  6. Add more cheese and top with another tortilla.
  7. Cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Press lightly while cooking for a crisp texture.
  9. Remove from heat, rest for 1–2 minutes, then slice into wedges.
  10. Serve with burger sauce or preferred dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Use 80/20 beef for best smash burger flavor and crisp edges.
  • Don’t overfill tortillas to make flipping easier.
  • Medium heat prevents burning while melting cheese fully.
  • Works great as a quick alternative to hamburgers or panini-style sandwiches.
  • Can be customized like pizza quesadilla or classic cheese quesadilla recipe.
