Ingredients
  

  • lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
  • ½ cup French fried onions optional topping
  • Fresh parsley chopped (optional garnish)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil or butter.
  2. Pat chicken dry and season lightly with black pepper.
  3. In a bowl, combine sour cream, onion soup mix, and garlic powder until smooth.
  4. Arrange chicken in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Spread the sour cream and onion mixture evenly over the chicken.
  6. Sprinkle French fried onions on top if using.
  7. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until chicken is fully cooked and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
